Auxiliary
The Cibola General Hospital Auxiliary is an all-volunteer organization that supports the hospital and patient care by raising money to purchase new equipment and technology. The Auxiliary operates a thrift shop at 308 E. Stephens in Grants (known locally as Batie’s Shopping Center) that is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with all profits going to the hospital. In 2004, the Auxiliary made a contribution of more than $22,900.
The thrift shop accepts donations of clothing, linens, shoes, dishes, jewelry and housewares of all types – with the exception of large appliances and large pieces of furniture. Special sales are held on most holidays, and the thrift shop and its volunteers regularly donate items to other charitable programs within the community. Currently, running the thrift shop is the sole function of the Auxiliary and its 15 members.
Anyone who would like to join the Cibola General Hospital Auxiliary or volunteer his or her time to work in the thrift shop is invited to call (505) 285-3337. Volunteers work as little or as much as their schedule allows. All help is welcome. |
