July 10, 2009 - This year, Cibola General Hospital is celebrating 50 years of serving the community. In honor of this achievement, they will be inducting the first nominees to the Cibola General Hospital Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame is a new forum for the hospital to recognize, celebrate, and publicize the work of extraordinary individuals whose lifetime contributions have had lasting impact on the hospital, the community and the patients served.

Nominations are being sought from the community for an individual who has exhibited commitment to the hospital and the community. He or she should have demonstrated dedication to the healthcare field and the service of others. All past or present physicians, board members, volunteers, or philanthropists are eligible. Nominees may be living or deceased.

“Cibola General Hospital is the community’s hospital. Throughout its fifty-year history, several members of our community have contributed to its growth and success. This award allows us to publicly acknowledge those who have dedicated themselves to the health and well-being of our community,” notes Kenneth Cochran, CGH Chief Executive Officer.

The Hall of Fame is just one part of the 50^th Anniversary Celebration planned for the week of September 8^th – 12^th. Some of the activities include a Gala on Friday, September 11 and a Community Day Celebration on Saturday, September 12. More details about the celebration week will be published.

Additionally, forms will be periodically published in the Cibola Beacon. Completed forms need to be submitted to: CGH Award Nomination Committee, c/o Marcie Malaj, 1016 E. Roosevelt Ave., Grants, NM 87020 by July 24, 2009 at 4 pm.

Inductee(s) will be notified by August 11, 2009. The awards will be presented at the 50th Anniversary Gala, on September 11, 2009.
