Kenneth Cochran, RN, FACHE
Chief Executive Officer
Kenneth Cochran has been the Chief Executive Officer of Cibola General Hospital since March 2008. Prior to assuming the responsibility of the CEO role, he served as Chief Nursing Officer at a similar hospital in Colorado. Mr. Cochran has served in many clinical and nursing leadership roles over the last 18 years. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Troy State University in 1998, a Master of Business Administration from California State University in 2004. Mr. Cochran is Board Certified in Healthcare Administration, Nursing Administration, and Emergency Nursing. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Mr Cochran is dedicated to the progression of healthcare and to the constant improvement in the way we deliver care. He pursues this vision and dream through local, state, and national involvement. Mr. Cochran is currently involved with the following organizations:

- Board Member, American Hospital Association Section for Small and Rural Hospitals Governing Council

J.F. Rimel, Jr.
Assistant Administrator & Chief Financial Officer
Jeff Rimel came to Cibola General Hospital in March of 1994 as Assistant Administrator and Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for the financial oversight of all the systems in the hospital and specific operational departments. Mr. Rimel has over 35 years experience in financial management of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. The last 25 plus years Mr. Rimel has served as the CFO in small rural hospitals in Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. He is a combat Vietnam Veteran with active duty in the U.S. Army from 1967 through 1969. Mr. Rimel holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University with dual majors in Finance and Personnel Relations. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and has served several terms as its Chapter director and Rural Taskforce Chairman. He was Chairman of the Voluntary Hospitals of America CFO group, chaired a local Credit Union for six years, and was a Board member for the Chamber of Commerce and the Cibola Arts Council.

Pamela Akin, RN, MSN
Chief Clinical Officer / Chief Nursing Officer
Pamela Akin, RN MSN joined the Cibola General Hospital team in June 2008 as the Interim Chief Clinical Officer, accepting the permanent position in September of 2008. Pamela is currently responsible for the oversight of the Emergency Room, In-patient Medical Surgical, Intensive Care Unit, Obstetrics, and Surgical departments. Pamela’s focus in this role is the implementation of Evidenced-Based Nursing and Family-Centered Care practice, as well as driving quality initiatives to improve the health of our community. Prior to joining the CGH team Pamela was consulting as a Department Director and Chief Nursing Officer, traveling throughout the United States. Pamela holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Masters of Nursing Administration and Health Care Systems degree from Washburn University, Topeka Kansas and Wichita Kansas respectively. |  |  |

Andy Hum
Chief Quality Officer / Risk Management
A newcomer to the Grants area, Andy Hum, having grown up in Tucson, is glad to be back in the southwest region. He brings to Cibola General Hospital almost 30 years of hospital experience with the last 10 years focused on quality assurance, process/performance improvement, and risk reduction. Andy’s primary goal is to establish a systematic approach to hospital operations to enhance the quality and performance of healthcare delivered. Andy has a Bachelor of Science in Biology focusing on Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Arizona and a Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This provides Andy a broad and diverse perspective on the healthcare needs of the community. |  |  |

Sheila Cox
Human Resources Director
Sheila Cox has been employed at Cibola General Hospital since 1985. Beginning in 1986, Mrs. Cox assumed her current position of Director of Human Resources. She learned to love the healthcare field while working as an admission clerk at Cibola General Hospital during her senior year of high school. She is a member on the Hospital Services Corporation Joint Unemployment Compensation Board and the Hospital Services Corporation Worker’s Compensation Board. Mrs. Cox attended Brigham Young University as well as New Mexico State University-Grants Branch. |  |  |
