Dr. Young is a devoted and experienced hospitalist who loves to practice in our rural area and see patients of all ages. Growing up, she knew she belonged in the medical field since both of her parents worked in healthcare, therefore, doctor’s offices and hospitals always felt like home to her. Dr. Young is grateful to come to work everyday doing what she loves, and help educate patients about what they can do to increase their overall health and wellness. L. Andre' Worrell, MD, FAAP

Dr. Worrell is a Pediatrician with over 25 years of experience who is committed to excellence in patient care. The positive experiences during his visits to his own Pediatrician as a child contributed to his inspiration to pursue a medical degree in addition to the influence of other family members in medicine, and now contribute to his desire to provide enjoyable and informational visits to his own patients. Knowing that his patients and their caregivers appreciate all that he is able to do in making their visits successful and beneficial by serving their needs everyday and making a difference in their lives is the great satisfaction he derives from his profession. During his spare time, Dr. Worrell likes to play chess, hike, bike, swim, learn new languages, and even teach himself how to play the piano all over again.

Dr. David Johnson, MD

Dr. Johnson is a highly experienced General Surgeon with over 35 years of experience whose interest in medicine developed during his childhood after being treated several times in the Emergency Room for asthma. He has worked in a variety of hospitals, and he has become enchanted with the appealing unique culture and interactions shared here at our small hospital. Dr. Johnson finds that one of the most rewarding aspects of his profession is that his training allows him to employ procedures that improve and actually change people’s lives for the better. When away from work, most of his time is pleasantly spent with his grandchildren or riding his motorcycle.

Sara E. Thorp, DO

Dr. Thorp is an experienced Family Physician who has been in practice for over 10 years and is working at CGH as a Hospitalist. Her appreciation of science and the human body led her to health care, but the direct interaction with her patients led her to medicine. Dr. Thorp was drawn to the values, culture, and people she encountered at CGH where everyone works together as a team toward a goal of clinical excellence and compassionate care. This culture promotes relationships with patients and colleagues that allow patient care to focus on the patient as a whole person, who is part of a family and community.
